Text Message Notification System

Parking Services offers a Text Message Notification System that will provide time sensitive parking information to subscriber's cell phones. Subscribers of this service will be alerted to important notices from Parking Services about various topics. This service is only available to UMass Students, Faculty and Staff who have a valid OIT account. Below is information about the system:

  • This text message system will only be used to communicate important parking information such as:
    • Permit renewals
    • Parking lot updates
    • Removal of your vehicle from campus
    • Other important parking information
  • Subscribing to the message system is free; however, your cell phone carrier may charge you to receive text messages. Check with your cell phone company for details.
  • Parking Services will only use your cell phone number for parking information. Your cell phone number will NOT be shared with commercial or third party entities.

Logging In/Logging Out

Before subscribing, updating, or removing yourself from the Text Message Notification System, you must be logged into your OIT account. The instructions for logging in and logging out are as follows:

  1. Click on the My Account tab.
  2. If you are not already logged in, you will be redirected to the OIT Web Login page. Follow the instructions on the page.
  3. After logging in, you will be redirected to the My Account page.
  4. When you are finished with subscribing, updating or removing yourself from the Text Message Notification System, logout by clicking Logout under the My Account tab.

To Subscribe

  1. Click on My Text Messages under the My Account tab.
  2. After being redirected to the My Text Messages page, click on Sign Up.
  3. In the Cell Number field, enter your cell phone number starting with the area code (e.g. 413-555-1234). All 10 digits of your phone number are required. Note: You must have a U.S.-based cell carrier in order to subscribe.
  4. Click the checkbox next to the Terms and Conditions if you agree, and click on Sign Up.
  5. After submitting your information you will receive a confirmation text message to your cell phone. If you do not receive a confirmation text message, you should call Parking Services at 413-545-0065. Make sure to provide your phone number and cell phone provider.

To Update Your Subscription

To ensure that you are receiving text messages in a timely manner, keep your cell phone number up-to-date on the Parking Services website. To update cell phone information:

  1. Click on My Text Messages under the My Account tab.
  2. Click on Update.
  3. Enter the new cell phone number.
  4. Click Update.

To Unsubscribe

To unsubscribe from the Text Message Notification System:

  1. Click on My Text Messages under the My Account tab.
  2. Click Remove Me.
  3. Confirm and click Remove Me again.
